Carol Gibson-Gill, MD serves as the Chair of the Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders Department at the Veterans Administration New Jersey Health Care System (VANJHCS), where she has spent over 28 years providing comprehensive care to Veterans living with Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS. She also serves as the Director of the New Jersey Regional Hub of the Veterans Health Administration Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence- East and the Director of the ALS Program at VA New Jersey Health Care System. Dr. Gibson-Gill has built the programs she leads with an enhanced focus on providing timely quality care to the Veterans and support to their family Caregivers. Under her leadership, her team has built a successful Caregivers’ Program and Virtual Health Care Program, both of which are integral parts of the care they deliver to the Veterans they serve. She sees the value of and has embraced the Whole Health initiatives which she has integrated in their Veteran-centered model of care they call the "Triangle of Healthy Caregiving". The Veterans they serve give favorable report about their involvement in the whole health practices in the SCI/D Service i.e My Life My Story, Acupuncture, Yoga, Nature-Assisted Therapy, Culinary program, Mindfulness, etc.
