Megan K. O'Brien, PhD, is a Research Scientist within the Technology & Innovation Hub (tiHUB) at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. She also holds an appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. O'Brien's research utilizes sensors and other mobile technologies to measure, monitor, and improve rehabilitation outcomes. She applies interdisciplinary techniques in engineering, biomechanics, and machine learning to identify disease-specific biomarkers of health and behavior across the continuum of care, from the clinic to the home. Her research has spanned applications for stroke, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease, and pediatrics.
