As a dedicated graduate student in the field of Health and Rehabilitation Science with an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Health Science, I have strong interest in understanding and supporting the complexities of caregiving. I have participated in qualitative research that seeks to understand the challenges care partners of individuals with Parkinson’s disease face, specifically in the realm of initiating and navigating difficult conversations. Recognizing the important role effective communication plays in a partnership, my research goals primarily focus on identifying communicative strategies that aim to support and better prepare care partners to undertake difficult conversation as they continue their journey alongside their loved one with Parkinson’s disease.
