Kumiko Hashida earned a bachelor’s degree in 2018 in Athletic Training at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, a master’s degree in 2020 in in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science: Physical Activity & Adapted Physical Activity at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and a doctoral degree in 2023 in College of Education – Kinesiology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Currently, she is working as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Georgia. Her area of focus to be concussion, sports medicine, and anatomy. Her long term research interest involves the development of a comprehensive understanding of concussions and the advancement of a concussion assessment paradigm. Her extensive clinical experience as an athletic trainer in various settings, including Division I collegiate athletes to middle school athletes, helps her identify gaps between scientific evidence and clinical practices. Her role as a researcher is to bridge the gap through research focusing on clinical application in athletic training settings.
