Ebonee Cole is an occupational therapist with over 16 years of experience. She has worked in various settings, including acute care, inpatient acute and short-term rehabilitation, and home health. For the past four years, Ebonee has worked with the stroke population at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) and knows first-hand the difficulties experienced by patients with arm weakness after stroke. She works on the neurology and neurosurgery units in acute care, where she provides education on the importance of managing the weak arm, including hands-on training in small groups and larger venues such as “Stroke Education Day” for nursing professionals working with the stroke population at URMC. Ebonee has recently taken a position as the OT Inpatient Brain Injury Coordinator, where she works closely with brain injury physicians in developing programs for patients with acquired brain injuries, including stroke, to improve OT service delivery for patients.
