Alice Barra is a neuropsychologist in the Coma Science Group at the University of Liège, Belgium. She graduated with her PhD in neuropsychology in June 2022. Previously, she worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Neurorehabilitation Lab, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital-Harvard Medical School. She received her MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience and Clinical Neuropsychology at University of Padua, Italy and her BSc in Cognitive Psychology at University of Studies Suor Orsola Benincasa, Italy. Alice’s work as a neuropsychologist aims to study the relationship between techniques of neuromodulation, such as transcranial electrical stimulation, and consciousness. Her research investigates these techniques, their mechanisms of action, and their effects on neuroimaging, neurophysiological and behavioral measures. She explores these domains in a range of topics including consciousness, pathological states of consciousness, and hypnosis.
