Dr. Desai is Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and the Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship Program Director at Carolinas Rehabilitation, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Charlotte, NC, USA.
As an early career brain injury physiatrist, my current research involves determining how spasticity management with botulinum toxin affects mobility and gait. Additionally, my traumatic brain injury (TBI) research has been focused on medication interventions for agitation in the TBI population and how chronic pain affects moderate to severe TBI. I have additional interests in long term outcomes with the TBI population along with the socio-economic impact of these injuries.
