Caitlin graduated from Springfield College, in Springfield, MA with a Bachelor Degree of Science in Health and Science Studies in May of 2010 followed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in May of 2012. Caitlin is currently a full time physical therapist at Gaylord Specialty Healthcare. Since joining Gaylord Specialty Healthcare in 2012, Caitlin’s career has expanded to that of a Level III Therapist as a Seating Specialist as well as a team leader. Caitlin’s clinical expertise is in the areas of Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and Medically Complex patient populations; she has been board certified as a Neurological Clinical Specialist since 2018 and she received her Assistive Technology Professional Certification in 2021. She is currently serving as a co-investigator in two research studies. The first is titled, “Does Endurance Improve with the use of Passy-Muir Valve for Patients with Tracheostomy.” The second is titled, “Clinical study of a novel, body-weight supported, balance-perturbation module during the rehabilitation of gait and balance impairments secondary to stroke: A multisite randomized control trial”. In both studies, she takes part in subject recruitment, completion of standardized assessments and data input as well as interpretation. In the ladder study, she also utilizes her technical expertise with the use of the Zero G equipment. The above noted skills allow for successful completion of the research studies. Most recently, Caitlin completed a case study, titled, “The Role of Wheelchair Seating Intervention in Wound Healing: a case study,” which was published in the National Registry of Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers magazine, Directions, Volume 1, 2002. Additionally, she has had two scholarly articles published in Rehab Management Magazine related to complex rehab technology since 2021; with one of these articles, she was also interviewed regarding her work, with the podcast available online.
