Dr. Ofra Pottorf is the Director of Clinical Education/Clinical Assistant Professor at Hofstra University’s developing Doctor of Physical Therapy program. She earned her BS in Biochemisty from Stonybrook University, DPT from Touro University, and PhD in Postsecondary and Adult Education from Capella University. Her dissertation investigated students' perceived abilities on professional behaviors skills following a patient simulation experience, and her current research agenda continues to investigate effective learning models for clinical readiness. She is also passionate about researching reliability and validity of emerging technologies and their use in healthcare and healthcare education. She is currently conducting research on reliability and validity of newer 3D motion capture systems and mobile devices used for bone fracture detection. She has been practicing physical therapy for 15 years and has been in academia for over 10 years. Her main area of expertise is orthopedic physical therapy and is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) through ABPTS since 2015.
