Rachel Shirmer is a Duquesne University student pursuing her doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy. While there, Rachel has been involved in many student organizations and projects. She is a member of a research team working to understand factors impacting patients’ completion of their assigned rehabilitation home programs. Additionally, she is involved in a project as part of her degree program, working to educate therapists at an outpatient pediatric clinic on the use of telehealth in OT with a special focus on its use for feeding therapy. Rachel has many interests in OT, especially in pediatrics, neurorehabilitation, and acute care.
