Cindy W. Poole, OTD, M.Ed., OTR/L is an Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. She received her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the Medical College of Georgia, master’s degree in education from Central Michigan University, and post-professional occupational therapy doctorate from Eastern Kentucky University. With over 35 years’ experience in multiple practice areas including a CHT private-practice and school-based pediatrics, her previous research works have explored the correlation between dynamic hand strength and hand function in healthy adults, the use of virtual reality calm rooms to improve student engagement, the association between sleep and health related quality of life, and the sleep management practices of Occupational Therapy practitioners with stroke survivors and children with Autism.
