I am a masters prepared registered nurse, in the Nursing Science PhD program at Widener University’s School of Nursing. I received my bachelor’s degree in nursing from Widener University and my master’s degree in Psychiatric nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. I am certified as a rehabilitation nurse and wound care nurse. I am a Professor of Practice at Gwynedd Mercy University, specializing in Nursing Research, Leadership, and Behavioral health. I teach both undergraduate and graduate pre-licensure nursing students. I also work as a Quality and Regulatory Coordinator at Good Shepherd Penn Partners in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I am passionate about patient care, the health of nursing staff, and future of nursing education.
I received the 2022 Crozer-Keystone Community Foundation Scholarship, Eva Miller Nursing Scholarship to fund my PhD research on the path of underrepresented nurses into full-time faculty positions.
I received the Patient Safety Advocate Award from the Patient Safety Committee in 2018 from GSPP for identifying a patient safety issue, reporting it, and providing real time education to a nurse to prevent patient harm.
I received the Independence Blue Cross Foundation 2017-2018 Nurses for Tomorrow Graduate Scholarship.
With colleagues, I received the Operational Award for Good Shepherd Penn Partners in 2016 as a member of an interdisciplinary team that initiated a Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection Prevention Bundle.
In 2016, I received the Victoria L. Rich - Transformational Leadership award at Good Shepherd Penn Partners for nursing leaders that get the message across through effective communication throughout the healthcare organization.
It is a great pleasure to work with the Wound Care team at Good Shepard Penn Partners. I worked as a wound care certified nurse in this wound care team for 5 years and enjoyed patient education, innovating and optimizing patient care, and my involvement with the multi-disciplinary team.
