Bishan Yang, MS, is a PhD Candidate in Rehabilitation Science in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. She earned a bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Therapy in Guangzhou, China, and a master's degree in Rehabilitation with a focus on Occupational Therapy at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Her research interests are promoting aging in place for older adults and full participation for people with disabilities. She has also been involved in research projects that aimed to improve health outcomes for stroke survivors and people with multiple sclerosis during her doctoral training. Bishan's dissertation project will be examining environmental factors influencing community participation using a community-engaged research approach.
