Assistant Professor
University of Kentucky Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
I am an assistant professor at the University of Kentucky, and I am a physician-researcher with interest in user-centered design of technology for assessment, assistance, and rehabilitation of individuals with neurologic disease. I have primary appointment in Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as joint appointment in Department of Mechanical Engineering. My clinical duties focus on rehabilitation after stroke, and I have clinical privileges at a university acute care hospital and at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital--a freestanding inpatient rehabilitation facility. With current research funding through a KL2 sponsored by the University of Kentucky Center for Clinical and Translational Science, my primary research line is focused on validation of a computer vision approach to kinematic assessment of the post-stroke upper extremity. My research mission is improving upper extremity outcomes and quality of life for individuals impacted by stroke.
