Kaelee Brockway has been a physical therapist since graduating from Grand Valley State University in 2013. Her clinical experience in post-acute rehabilitation focusing on organ transplant and complex chronic disease management. Dr. Brockway has held several leadership positions at the local, state, and national level for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and its components. In 2017 Dr. Brockway became a Board‐Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy (GCS) and was the recipient of the APTA Emerging Leader Award. Dr. Brockway then achieved the Advanced Credentialed Exercise Expert for Aging Adults (A-CEEAA) certification from APTA Geriatrics. Dr. Brockway has presented nationally and authored a textbook chapter on rehabilitation for older adults with complex chronic diseases. She is currently full-time core faculty for the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences Physical Therapy program in Irving, Texas where she leads Cardiovascular and Pulmonary, Geriatrics, Acute and Sub-Acute Management, and Pharmacology. Dr. Brockway was awarded the Board of Directors' Award for Excellence in Innovation in 2022 and is due to complete her Doctorate in Education (EdD) in 2023. Her current research includes leading the development of a clinical practice guideline for the physical therapist management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, novel simulation integration for DPT education, and the role of physical therapists in complex chronic disease management.
