Dr. Quilico is a postdoctoral fellow at Baylor Scott & White Health, where he continues his research about health promotion after brain injury under the supervision of Dr. Driver. He completed a PhD in the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute at the University of Toronto and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation of Greater Montreal, where his doctoral work focused on cocreating, implementing, and evaluatiing a community-based peer-run physical activity program for adults with moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) that was supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). Dr. Quilico obtained an undergraduate degree in Education from Concordia University and a graduate degree in Adapted Physical Activity from McGill University. He has been working as an advocate for TBI awareness since 2008 and was recognized for his contributions as a Global Hero in 2020, a SSHRC Storyteller Competition winner in 2019, and as Change-Maker by the Neurological Health Charities of Canada in 2018.
