Arpan Bhavsar is a Research Engineer in the Inan Research Lab at Georgia Tech’s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is the technical lead for Kinemo, a wearable alternative controller to allow individuals living with severe paralysis to drive their power wheelchair and access their personal electronic devices more effectively. Arpan has received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Georgia Tech in Electrical Engineering, and has been leading the hardware, firmware, and algorithm development of Kinemo. Outside of Kinemo, Arpan is working on developing wearable body motion tracking systems for various applications such as speech therapy and physical therapy. Arpan began his work on body motion tracking systems during his undergraduate studies, where he received the Presidential Undergraduate Research Award for his work. Prior to working at the Inan Research Lab, Arpan worked at SpaceX as an Integration and Test Associate Engineer, and as a Hardware Engineer Intern for Texas Instruments and Cognosos.
