Assistant Professor

Columbia, Missouri, United States
I am an Assistant Professor and director of the Optimal Performance & Enhanced Neurorehabilitation (OPEN) Laboratory in the Department of Occupational Therapy at University of Missouri-Columbia. The goal of the OPEN lab is to generate evidence to support clinicians in improving performance of meaningful everyday activities and quality of life in adults with acquired brain injury. Current research in the OPEN Laboratory focuses on stroke, cancer-related cognitive impairment, and post-concussive syndrome. My research has three primary objectives: (1) to assess the psychometrics of functional cognitive assessment tools, (2) to develop and test the efficacy of clinically applicable (e.g. cost, time) functional cognitive interventions in neurologic populations, and (3) to optimize rehabilitation interventions with non-invasive brain stimulation methods.
