Dr. Van Dyk is a neuropsychologist and Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at UCLA’s Semel Institute, Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences . Dr. Van Dyk earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology, with a specialty in neuropsychology from the City University of New York – Graduate Center, with both predoctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship in geropsychology/neuropsychology at UCLA. She has received a post-doctoral fellowship grant from the American Cancer Society and a K08 award from the National Cancer Institute to develop her research program at UCLA in assessing and supporting cognitive health in cancer survivorship. Her research program is designed to synthesize with her clinical practice, which includes neuropsychological assessment of cancer survivors and cognitive rehabilitation services locally at UCLA. In efforts to more broadly impact supportive care in cancer survivorship, she is co-chair of the national Oncology Cognitive Rehabilitation Task Force in the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine.
