Mansha Mirza earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy at the University. She then completed a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and a PhD in Disability Studies from the University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC). She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Healthcare Studies, and is currently an Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy at UIC.
Dr. Mirza’s research and academic interests focus on delivery of disability and health related services in the context of resource-limited situations of humanitarian relief, experiences of refugees with disabilities in resettlement and in refugee camps, and health disparities among refugees and immigrants settled in the US. Dr. Mirza has been awarded multiple grants to fund her research in this area. She has presented at several national and international conferences and has numerous publications to her credit including 48 peer-reviewed journal articles and 7 book chapters.
