Aaron M. Martin is a clinical research psychologist at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital (JAHVA) and assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at the University of South Florida. He is a co-investigator on a National Institute on Disability, Living, and Rehabilitation funded study entitled Characterization and Treatment of Chronic Pain after Moderate to Severe Traumatic Brain Injury. He is currently a co-investigator and site-PI on a multi-site pragmatic trial supported by the NIH-DoD-VA Pain Management Collaboratory which compares a Primary Care Group Education (PGHE) intervention to a Whole Health Team approach. His research and clinical areas of focus are on the role of insomnia and sleep apnea in the development of and adjustment to chronic pain. To address the sleep needs of Veterans living with chronic pain, he developed and implemented the Pain, Activation, & Sleep Skills program at JAHVA.
