Dr. Duncan is a leading expert in stroke, neurologic recovery, aging, and patient-reported outcome measures, and widely recognized for her efforts to reengineer post-acute care services and recovery following stroke. She develops consumer-oriented assessments to improve patient outcomes by guiding real-time clinical decision-making and recommendations for self-management, medical and social services. She has published extensive research in the area of stroke management. Dr. Duncan received her MA and PhD from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and currently serves as a professor of neurology and gerontology and geriatric medicine. She is affiliated with the Maya Angelou Center for Health Equity.
