Dr. Ashman is in Private Practice in New York and Georgia, working with people with cognitive disabilities and chronic health conditions. She is an Associate Professor at NYU Langone Medical Center and Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. Dr. Ashman completed her doctorate at the New School University, her internship at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital, and her postdoctoral fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is Board Certified in Rehabilitation Psychology and a Fellow in the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine and the American Psychological Association. Dr. Ashman has worked for over 25 years researching psychosocial issues for people with brain injuries and chronic health conditions. At NYU Langone (as an Associate Professor and Associate Director of Psychology Research and of Postdoctoral Fellowship) and at Mount Sinai Medical Centers she conducted federally funded studies both as principal investigator (PI) and as a senior researcher. Dr. Ashman has published over fifty peer-review articles and has presented extensively nationally and internationally.
