Mary Alexis Iaccarino, MD (she/her/hers)

Dr. Iaccarino is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. She is an attending physician in the MGH Youth and Sport Concussion Program and is the Sr. Director of Brain Health Services at Home Base, an MGH and Red Sox Foundation Program that treats military services members with TBI. She also serves as the Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Home Base overseeing clinical programs to provide mental health and TBI care to military service members and veterans nationally. She is an independent neurotrauma consultant for the National Football League and treats retired NFL players in the MGH Brain and Body Program. Dr. Iaccarino's research focuses on diagnostic tools in the evaluation of concussion and repetitive head trauma as well as new therapeutic modalities to improve concussion recovery and long-term brain health.

Dr. Iaccarino obtained a degree in biology from Georgetown University and completed her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed her internship at the University of Virginia. She then moved to Boston where she completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a fellowship in Brain Injury Medicine in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Harvard Medical School and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
