Dr. Mark Lyle is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Physical Therapy at Emory University and Department of Orthopaedics. Dr. Lyle received his physical therapy degree from Simmons College and subsequently worked in an outpatient clinic for 4 years. He then pursued a PhD in Biokinesiology from the University of Southern California. His research examined factors that contribute to anterior cruciate ligament injuries in young athletes. Additional training studying the functional role of proprioceptive feedback was received as a NIH supported Postdoctoral Fellow at Georgia Institute of Technology with Richard Nichols. Dr. Lyle’s research focuses on the study of sensorimotor mechanisms that influence locomotor performance, with an emphasis on the functional role of muscle spindle and Golgi tendon organ networks.
