Dr. Jester is a Biostatistician with the Women's Operational Military Exposure Network (WOMEN) and War Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC) at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. His research is focused on how social determinants of health and structural inequities impact cognition and mental health in marginalized older adults, with an emphasis on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Another facet of his work examines nursing home staffing deficits, quality of care disparities in long-term care settings, and adverse health outcomes for vulnerable nursing home residents exposed to natural disasters. Dr. Jester completed a PhD (Aging Studies) and MPH (Epidemiology) at the University of South Florida and a T32 Postdoctoral Fellowship (Geriatric Mental Health) at the UC San Diego School of Medicine.
