Dr. Hsiao-ju (Rita) Cheng is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Singapore-ETH Centre in Singapore. She received her Ph.D. in 2020 from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. She is a recipient of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine Diversity Complementary Integrative Rehabilitation Medicine R13 Workshop Fellowship in 2021 and 2022. Her research interests lie in utilizing rehabilitation technologies, brain imaging, and neurophysiological measures for improving modern neurorehabilitation approaches. As a trained occupational therapist, her research utilizes technology-aided therapy to promote post-stroke sensorimotor recovery, daily function, and quality of life. She also uses structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging methods and analyses to investigate the brain-behavior relationships in post-stroke motor recovery and cognitive function. With inter-disciplinary training, her research aims to pave a way for the development of future neurorehabilitation approaches for patients with neurological disorders.
