Dr. Padgett is a rehabilitation psychologist whose background includes research administration and funding (National Cancer Institute, Veteran Affairs), as well as clinical services at Kaiser Permanente and the Washington DC VAMC prior to coming to her current role in August 2021. She completed her PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Memphis and post-doctoral training in Rehabilitation Psychology at Emory University School of Medicine.
Her current scientific portfolio covers health services and implementation research in disability and function, aging, caregiving, palliative care, and long-term support services for older adults such as long-term care and rehabilitation facilities, as well as home-based healthcare. Her research interests are in cancer rehabilitation and psychosocial care, and palliative care decision-making. She has worked on several projects fostering research and community collaborations to implement evidence-based care outside of academic settings.
