Kelly Ann Peña, M.S., CCC-SLP, TSSLD, CBIST is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice at Rutgers University’s Masters in Speech and Language Pathology program. She is a multilingual (English/Spanish/ASL) clinician who has a significant interest in neurogenic communication disorders in pediatric and adult populations, clinical education cognitive-communication, and interprofessional practice, in addition to the intersection between SLPs, social justice, and cultural responsivity. Kelly currently sits on ASHA’s Committee for Interprofessional Relations between APA and ASHA and ANCDS’s Education and Standards Committee.. She is a licensed SLP in both NY and NJ and holds her teaching certification in NY. Kelly also is the co-advisor and faculty founder of RU’s NSSLHA chapter and is a member of SIG 2 (Neurogenic Communication Disorders), SIG 11 (Administration and Supervision), and SIG 20 (Counseling) through ASHA. Kelly graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 2015 with her Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has clinical experience working in various medical settings, such as NICU, PICU, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient rehabilitation with adults and pediatric populations, focusing on brain injury and cultural responsivity.
