Dr. Coomer specializes in analyzing healthcare payment systems by bringing together medical and policy data to answer questions around the design, implementation, and evaluation of healthcare strategies. As a healthcare policy and administration researcher, she monitors performance, implements regulations, and conducts health policy and regulation research. Dr. Coomer's recent work focuses on assisting CMMI in the implementation of the ACO Reach Model, the use of site-neutral payments in post-acute care, analyzing risk adjustment models for predicting post-acute care episode payments and costs for the Medicare program, and the implementation of diagnosis related groups for hospital payment in Dubai.
