Peter Coyle is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (2013) and PhD in Biomechanics and Movement Science (2017) at the University of Delaware, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in aging and health services research at the University of Pittsburgh (2019). His research focus is on understanding and improving the direct impact that health systems have on the health and quality of life for older adults with various complicated clinical conditions (e.g., chronic low back pain, stroke). He has active collaborations with various health system partners throughout the country, including Brooks Rehabilitation. His training and research agenda have been supported by the LeaRRning Health Systems Rehabilitation Research Network (LeaRRn), the Center on Health Services Training and Research (CoHSTAR), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
