Monica Heinemann received her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from the Medical College of Ohio (now University of Toledo) in 1996. She is currently working at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Arizona in the acute care setting, and has been working at Mayo Clinic in several capacities since 1999. She has a wide range of experience working in outpatient, subacute, acute rehabilitation, hand therapy, and home health settings. She has special interest in neurological, cognitive, and visual rehabilitation. She practiced as an LSVT specialist treating individuals with Parkinson’s disease for 10 years. She also was responsible for development and implementation a dog-assisted therapy program and a return to driving program in an outpatient neurological rehabilitation setting. Research interests include integrative medicine and neurological rehabilitation. Ms. Heinemann has been serving as an allied health liaison for the NOHARM research trial since 2021.
