Dr Urvashy Gopaul is a post-doctoral fellow at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Canada. Dr Gopaul graduated with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy (University of Mauritius, 2008), MSc Physiotherapy (Neurorehabilitation) (University of Nottingham, UK, 2014) and her PhD in Physiotherapy (University of Newcastle, Australia, 2019). Dr Gopaul was a senior lecturer leading the physiotherapy program at the University of Mauritius. Dr Gopaul has strong research interests in the development of complex interventions combining sensory and motor training to improve upper limb function as well as the development of assessment tools for grasp deficits in stroke rehabilitation. Her post -doctoral research focuses on investigating on robotic assessment and training of upper limb deficits after stroke and other neurological conditions. Additionally, Dr Gopaul is investigating neuromodulation modalities such as spinal cord stimulation on people with spinal cord injury.
