Dr. de Souza is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Brain Injury Research Center in the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She earned a Bachelor's in Psychology from Queen’s University (Kingston, Canada), a Master's in Cognitive and Decision Science from University College London (London, UK), and Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Rutgers University (Newark, NJ). Her research uses advanced statistics and large-scale data analytics to investigate the effects of traumatic brain injury on cognitive, psychological, and neural processes across the lifespan. She is particularly interested in how individual factors such as sex, age, and mental health history can moderate outcomes following brain injury.
