Dr. Phipps received his Ph.D. in Human Performance (motor control) and neuroscience from Indiana University. During his Ph.D., he studied the role of physical activity and healthy aging on spinal reflexes. He is currently a postdoctoral scholar at the Medical University of South Carolina where he works in Dr. Aiko Thompson’s. He has been studying the role of cutaneous reflexes in the lower limbs and the role they play during locomotion in people with and without central nervous system damage.
