Stella D. Nelms, PhD, is a Board Cerfied and licensed health psychologist, Assistant Professor and Director of Health Psychology for the Division of Neuropsychology in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Emory University. Prior to coming to Emory she worked at the Hampton VA Medical Center in Virginia as a Home Based Primary Care Psychologist and then as a Palliative Care Psychologist at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. She teaches interpersonal communication to 1st year physical therapy students in the Division of Physical Therapy. Her research and clinical interests are adjustment to illness, palliative care, and chronic pain.
