Ashley Okray graduated from the University of Arizona in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and from the Pace University Physician Assistant Program in 2014 with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, where she was the valedictorian of her graduating class. While obtaining her master’s degree, she was published in the peer-reviewed journal, Advance for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. She initially worked as a Physician Assistant at New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center in Internal Medicine and Astoria Urgent Medical Care in New York City. She presently works at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, in the department of Geriatrics, providing care to older adults across various settings, including outpatient, inpatient, and on the acute rehabilitation unit. While at Rush, Ashley has helped to establish the FAIR (Functional Assessment and Individualized Report) frailty clinic within Rush Senior Care, and is presently involved in frailty research. She also works with the Rush Center for Excellence in Aging on various projects to support Age Friedly Health System efforts. Ashley was nominated for Outstanding PA of the Year at Rush in 2019, and is currently a member of the APP Volunteer Committee at Rush, AAPA, and IAPA.
