Shugeng Chen is a research-based physical therapist majoring in the hand function rehabilitation in stroke. He focuses on central interventions such as BCI, TMS etc. By using these brain stimulation methods, he tries to explore the neural mechanism after stroke. EEG-based BCI is one of his main research directions. He is now working in the research and clinical application of BCI, which is considered to be a good and noninvasive way for stroke patients. Due to the continuous deep cultivation and learning in the field of BCI, I was lucky enough to be selected to participate in the application and research of the Sino-German BCI international cooperation project. Also, under the guidance of Prof. Jia Jie, he is now trying to find a quantitative assessment method in hand function of stroke patients, which has made a prototype on the 3rd generation. Apart from these jobs, he participates in the rehabilitation for the patients with the contralateral seventh cervical nerve transfer. As a new treatment for central hemiplegia pioneered in China, this method has been reported by the top medical journal "New England Journal of Medicine", which has cross-era significance and value in the rehabilitation treatment of clinical stroke patients. Currently, he is presiding over one project of National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Fund and one project of Shanghai Sailing Program. He is the guest editor of Frontiers in Neuroscience (IF 5.152), Frontiers in Neurology (IF 4.086) and the Youth editorial board of Brain-X. He has published 48 papers, among which 25 in SCI, 16 in Chinese and 7 of conference papers. He also has four national patents.
