David R. Howell, PhD, ATC is the Lead Researcher at the Children's Hospital Colorado Sports Medicine Center, and an Assistant Professor & Director of Clinical Research for the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. He received his PhD in 2014 from the University of Oregon in biomechanics and neurophysiology and completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in sports medicine at Boston Children's Hospital in 2017. His concussion research laboratory is funded by NIH and DOD and other funding sources, and Dr. Howell has authored over 190 publications in peer-reviewed journals across the fields of sports medicine, biomechanics, neuroscience, rehabilitation, and pediatrics.
