Brooke Pagé
Co-Founder of WAGS of SCI (Wives And Girlfriends of Spinal Cord Injury)
Brooke, along with her co-founder Elena Pauly, began the WAGS of SCI support and advocacy group for women who have partners with spinal cord injuries in 2017. As the wife and caregiver of a C4 Quadriplegic, Brooke is passionate about advocating for paid spousal caregiving supports, with a goal to make equal opportunity employment without marital status discrimination more standard for caregivers in both government and insurance programs. Brooke believes that peer mental/emotional support as well as resources are key when living with the common stressors of spinal cord injury, and that this support is imperative for balancing a romantic relationship with a caregiving role. Brooke believes that members of WAGS of SCI are the backbone of the SCI community - and that their work is largely responsible for relieving the healthcare system, most times without compensation or recognition for their role. Brooke has a background in Marketing and Public Relations and brings her tech skillset to the WAGS group operations via web and graphic design, podcast editing and production, as well as operating and managing various online community engagement tools.
