Isabelle Gagnon is a Professor in the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy, and as well as a researcher in the Child Health and Human Development Program at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Center. She also continues to practice in the same institution as a neuropediatric physiotherapist. Her research program is inspired and anchored in the daily clinical reality of children and adolescents who sustain mild traumatic brain injuries, and receive services from pediatric tertiary care hospitals and trauma centers. As has been the focus since the inception of her research program, the overarching aim of her work remains to better understand the consequences of mild traumatic brain injuries sustained by children and adolescents as they relate to the practice of physical activities, and to optimize recovery post-injury, by way of specific interventions, in order to facilitate and contribute to a safer and more satisfying return to physical activities.
