Dr Johnson is a cardiovascular epidemiologist and health services researcher with almost 30 years of experience in basic and clinical research, health services research, and cardiovascular epidemiology. She has worked in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since 2003 in various projects within the cardiovascular epidemiology group. She has also worked at the Cecil G Sheps Center for Health Services Research at UNC studying health policy, health workforce, and rural health research. Her focus is on building upon the evidence base for cardiovascular quality improvement interventions in a way that makes them rapidly translatable into clinical practice and that directly leads to improved patient outcomes.
