Symonne Martin is a 4th-year medical student at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She has served as the President of her PM&R student interest group while maintaining her role as a Dean's Medical Excellence Scholar. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Psychology from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her research experiences thus far are varied, ranging from topics of DNA damage repair to health equity projects. Research interests within Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation include novel pain management modalities, music therapy, and neuroplasticity.
