Abiodun Akinwuntan, Ph.D., MPH, MBA, FASAHP, FACRM, FAMedS is the Dean of the School of Health Professions at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City. Dean Akinwuntan is a world-leading authority on the use of virtual-reality technologies to improve daily living activities in neurologically impaired persons. He has collaborated extensively on funded grants totaling more than $15 million. Dr. Akinwuntan has authored more than 110 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts including 8 book chapters. Dean Akinwuntan is a recipient of the prestigious United States Fulbright Scholarship to Nigeria in 2013 and a Fulbright Specialist Award to Iceland in 2016. He is a Fellow of the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions, a Fellow of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, a Fellow of the Medicine Specialties of Nigeria, and currently serves on the NIH National Advisory Board on Medical Rehabilitation Research.
