Sandra Saavedra is a postural control researcher with more than 25 years clinical experience as a pediatric physical therapist. She is a professor in the Physical therapy program at Western University of Health Sciences, Oregon campus. Her previous research focusing on segmental contributions to trunk control during typical and atypical development has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, Scoliosis Research Society and the National Science Foundation. Her current research expands previous work on segmental contributions to trunk control in children and applies those principles to adult populations with deficits in trunk control.
