Christina M. del Toro, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor in Speech-Language Pathology at Midwestern University where she teaches courses on aphasia, research methods, and evidence-based practice. She regularly lectures on issues related to adult neurogenic language and speech disorders for programs in the College of Health Sciences, College of Dental Medicine, and The Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.
In her research, she investigates characteristics of nouns and verbs which facilitate word recall in persons with aphasia and applies these findings to treatment protocols. She also develops and tests stimuli for word-finding treatments.
Dr. del Toro is a member of the Illinois Speech-Language Hearing Association, Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders, Aphasia Access, and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. As a member of the American Congress of Rehabilitation member she serves on the Communications Committee and the Aphasia and Other Related Disorders Task Force.
