Aqeel Alenazi is an Assistant Professor in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. He graduated from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2009. He received his master’s degree in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh, PA, USA in 2014 and his PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Kansas Medical Center, KS, USA in 2019. He has been a reviewer for several reputable journals and an Associate Editor for the BMC Musculoskeletal disorders, European Journal of Medical Research, and an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE. He has published more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include rehabilitation outcomes and chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis and diabetes, sleep disorders, frailty, stroke, and low back pain. To be specific, he worked on the association between osteoarthritis and diabetes in terms of prevalence, association, progression, and symptoms such as pain and functions. He conducted research on measuring the prevalence and associated risk factors with chronic conditions and physical functions such as gait speed, balance, and mobility measures. His work has different geographical areas including the United States and Saudi Arabia. At the level of chronic conditions and associated factors, his work included risk of fall and the clinical utility of predictors of fall.
