Hui-Ju (Zoe) Young, PhD, CMA, is a research scientist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Health Professions (SHP) Research Collaborative. Dr. Young is a trained exercise physiologist and a certified movement analyst with extensive training in exercise science related to physiological responses associated with various exercise forms as well as in Laban/Bartenieff movement analysis. She also serves as the Associate Director for the National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD). Her current work includes establishing and evaluating a healthcare-to-wellness pathway for people with disabilities through the NCHPAD infrastructure, studying physiological and psychosocial effects of adapted exercise and movement interventions, and evaluating the influence of movement quality on health and functional outcomes in people with disabilities.
