Dr. Tim Sobie is both a physical therapist (OUHSC 86’) and a senior practitioner in The Feldenkrais Method® (FPTP Oregon 96’). He completed his Master of Science degree in Behavioral Medicine in 1999 and his doctoral dissertation research Ph.D. in Psychology / Clinical Psychophysiology (Mind Body Medicine) at Saybrook University in 2016 by comparing an original, body schema & neuroplasticity-based Feldenkrais approach against usual physical therapy 'core stabilization' protocols for chronic low back pain. He is now also certified in Office Ergonomics via the OEAP program, North Carolina State University, He is now also certified in Office Ergonomics via the OEAP program, North Carolina State University in 2021, and with Certificate of Completion in Video Storytelling from The University of California Berkeley, Advanced Media Institute in 2023.
Tim’s current research and clinical interests involve applications and augmentations of somatic and sensory experience through Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and especially Mixed and Extended Reality (MR & XR) for enhancing the dexterity of touch, the consciousness of embodiment, and overall human improvement through mindfulness, movement, and neuroplasticity.
Now beginning on-line presence under 'SOBUS WellCare Solutions' via SobusMedia.com, Tim aims to 'Simplify Organization for Beings/ Bodies Under Stress' via Lifestyle & Experiential Medicine - using the SOBUS acronym (Synaptic Organization for Bodies Under Stress) in all the ways it can possibly be engendered.
