My name is Jorge Rodríguez Martínez, originally from Puerto Rico, raised across the American South, and currently a third year PsyD doctoral student at Albizu University, Miami Campus. I am a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a veteran of the 101st Airborne Division. My clinical experience thus far is largely based in neuropsychological assessment with interest in humanist and liberation psychology schools of psychotherapeutic thought. My affiliations include: APA Division 27 – Society for Community Research and Action: Division of Community Psychology and of APA Division 48 – Society for the Study of Peace, Conflict, and Violence: Peace Psychology Division. My research interests consist of identifying the causes of and effective means for preventing violence as well as identifying structural, socioeconomic reasons for alienation, depression, anxiety, suicidality, and homicidality and searching for ways to counteract these, including but not limited to accessible/walkable cities, greater financial security, and fostering more meaning in communities and in occupations
